Bar Vida- Greenwhich, CT

At Bar Vida in Greenwich, Connecticut, the goal was to redefine the juice bar experience by trading the expected bright-and-white aesthetic for something moodier, richer, and more elevated. We layered dark, modern finishes with classic architectural elements to create a space that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to its surroundings. Traditional wainscoting is paired with softly curved arches that nod to the timeless interiors found throughout Greenwich, while herringbone wood flooring grounds the space in warmth. Throughout the bar, recessed wall moments glow with integrated lighting and a mix of textures—wallpaper, lime wash, high-gloss accents, three-dimensional ribbed tile, and stunning granite that anchors the service counter. LED lighting traces the architectural lines, highlighting a dedicated retail bar and adding dimension without overwhelming the design. Even the bathroom becomes a moment of surprise and mood, styled with a sexy, boutique-like sensibility. Pendant lighting and layered materials tie the entire concept together, creating a dark, modern, and irresistibly refined take on the juice bar.

Every area of Bar Vida was designed to feel like its own destination, creating a curated experience from the moment you step inside to the moment you leave. Each wall and focal point offers a feature moment that draws you in—recessed arches wrapped in soft LED lighting, sculptural retail displays, hand-selected granite with striking natural movement, and intimate bathroom spaces that feel more like a boutique lounge than a washroom. Branded artwork sits beautifully within arched niches, tying the concept back to the identity of both the client and the Greenwich aesthetic. These layered moments work together to elevate the flow of the space, turning a simple juice bar visit into a visually rich, sensory experience.

Lighting plays a defining role in Bar Vida, guiding the customer experience and elevating each architectural moment. A grand recessed arch glows with soft, integrated illumination, while ribbed wall panels in the retail area are framed with linear LED lighting that highlights texture and creates movement. This lighting language is mirrored across the space—some arches, some full-height walls—all wrapped in the same warm, directional glow that ties each feature back to the overall concept. The bar and countertop continue this LED detailing, giving the surfaces a subtle halo effect. To complement the linear lighting, we selected sleek black ribbed pendant lights, scaled down to echo the larger ribbed wall panels without overwhelming them, along with carefully curated bathroom fixtures that deliver a refined, modern sensibility. Every lighting choice was intentional, adding depth, rhythm, and a high-touch feel throughout the space.

Creating a dedicated retail destination was essential for Bar Vida’s growth, so we carefully considered both the floor plan and the customer journey to ensure the experience felt intuitive and elevated. The retail zone is positioned to naturally guide clients through the space, allowing products to be discovered without disrupting flow. From the layout to the lighting to the architectural framing, every detail was designed to support visibility, storytelling, and ease—setting the client up for long-term success while maintaining the modern, moody aesthetic of the overall concept.
