Miami Beach- Reforming Pilates Coffee Bar

Project Size: 500 sqft

Tucked into the vibrant energy of Miami Beach, this Reforming Pilates refresh reimagines an overlooked corner of the studio into a sculptural, sensory experience. What began as a flat, uninspired wall with a tiny window cutout became an organically shaped marble coffee and juice bar framed by hand-selected stone slabs and softened by raked plaster that adds warmth and texture. Custom barstools, travertine sconces, and a marble-wrapped opening create a refined yet inviting moment for clients to gather. On the opposite side, we reinterpreted the existing ribbed cash desk with a more fluid, natural feel—introducing a raked plaster backdrop, a custom brass RP logo, and backlit vertical marble strips for subtle glow and dimension. Inside the bar niche, arched wallpaper and a branded neon sign complete the composition, bringing depth, identity, and a touch of playfulness to the space. The result is an elevated, cohesive environment shaped through thoughtful materials and organic detailing.

Elevated Design Moments

  • Here’s a more organic, non-formulaic version that keeps the essence while removing the “we transformed” phrasing:

An organically shaped marble coffee bar becomes the focal point of the studio, framed by matching stone that wraps the expanded window opening for a seamless, sculptural look. Backlit vertical marble strips mirror the material on the opposite wall, grounding the space with balance and creating a distinctive, elevated moment as soon as you enter.

  • The raked plaster walls introduce a raw, tactile softness to the studio—an organic counterpoint to the clean stonework and contemporary lines. Unlike the seen-everywhere ribbed wall panels, this hand-crafted finish brings depth, movement, and an almost sculptural quality to the space. It’s a difficult technique to execute, but the result is a beautifully imperfect texture that feels lived-in, elevated, and intentionally unique. The surface catches light in subtle waves, creating a warm, sensory experience that can’t be replicated with prefabricated materials. It’s the kind of detail that quietly shifts the atmosphere, grounding the studio in natural elegance.

  • Custom details bring the space to life, starting with bespoke bar stools designed exclusively for the studio and upholstered in fabrics that harmonize with the existing furniture. A large, sculptural gold metal RP logo anchors the check-in area, while travertine wall sconces echo the warmth of the marble and add a refined glow. Inside the coffee bar, a subtle arched wallpaper sets the tone for a branded neon sign that adds personality and energy. Every touchpoint was thoughtfully curated to feel unique, cohesive, and deeply connected to the client’s identity.
